Conflict Brief is an independent international relations education and analysis website owned and operated by Nicholas Kozicki. The website provides free educational content, interactive tools, and premium study resources relating to international relations theory and geopolitical analysis.

4. Premium access

Certain content and tools on Conflict Brief require a one-time premium access payment, processed through Stripe. By purchasing premium access:

  • You receive lifetime access to all premium tools and content available at the time of purchase, and any premium content added thereafter
  • Payment is processed securely by Stripe. Conflict Brief does not store your payment details
  • All sales are final. Refunds are not offered except where required by applicable consumer protection law
  • Premium access is for personal use only and may not be shared, resold, or transferred
  • Conflict Brief reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue individual premium tools, though substantial changes will be communicated to premium users

5. Newsletter

By subscribing to the Conflict Brief newsletter, you consent to receiving periodic emails about site content, new tools, and IR analysis. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Subscriber data is managed through Beehiiv in accordance with their terms and privacy policy.

6. Affiliate links

Conflict Brief participates in the Amazon Associates programme. Some links on the IR Reading List page are affiliate links, meaning Conflict Brief earns a small commission if you make a qualifying purchase, at no additional cost to you. This is disclosed on the relevant pages. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial decisions about which books are recommended.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nicholas Kozicki and Conflict Brief shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:

The Conflict Brief name, logo, and brand identity are the property of Nicholas Kozicki. The IR Theory Personality Test, IR Topic Finder, Guess the Country game, and other original interactive tools created for this site are original works protected by copyright. Unauthorised reproduction of these tools or their underlying questions, scoring systems, or content is not permitted.

Where content from third-party academic sources, primary documents, or news organisations is referenced, it is properly attributed. If you believe any content on this site infringes your intellectual property, contact contact@theconflictbrief.com with details and we will respond promptly.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Estonia, where this website is operated from. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Estonia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may hold in your country of residence.
